This is what I have long been searching for in Edinburgh - a perfect escape after a long day and close to the heart of the city. The service offered by Elaine and her team is genuine hospitality at its finest and a number of other establishments could do well in following the example set at Two Hillside Crescent. I will undoubtedly be returning when I am next in Edinburgh. Stayed June 2011, traveled on business

Stayed at Hillside for three nights and it was absolutely fantastic - exceeded our expectations and is in no way a stuffy B&B. Room was lovely, modern, clean, large, bright and cheery. Great bathroom with all the facilities and mod cons. Breakfast was excellent and the hostess Elaine is very helpful, friendly and always has a smile. I would HIGHLY recommend this B&B and would not hesitate to stay there again. Dont go past it.

Stayed two nights. Weather was wild outside but our host, Elaine, was warm and welcoming. The hotel is a beautiful Georgian home of truly grand proportions. The bedrooms are very spacious and clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We had a room at the back of the property and it was very very quiet. Bathroom was large, modern and well equipped. Breakfast room is setup in a way that allows easy conversation with the other guests, but its huge, so if you want privacy you can have that too. Location is very convenient, just a short walk from Waverley Station and many bus routes just outside the door. If you are looking for a great Gastro Pub in the area The Conan Doyle is easy walking distance. Room Tip: Upstairs room out the back is very quiet

We stayed at Two Hillside Cresent for one night on January 1st and had a wonderful time. Elaine was the most welcoming host , she has an amazing business here, although it doesn't feel right calling it a business, we felt as though we were staying at a friend's house. The house itself is perfect and beautiful in every way, our room (number one) was huge, spotlessly clean, beautifullt furnished and so, so comfortable. The beds are amazing and the breakfast was spot on. Thank you Elaine, it was the perfect start to 2011!

As soon as I walked into our Luxury room, I said "i want to live here". What a fabulous space, so comfortable and spacious. The shower is great and the bed is so comfy! Our host Elaine is super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious, I'll definitely find another excuse to come back here soon.

We just can't rate this place or our hostess highly enough. Booked in for a long weekend and despite our ridiculously early arrival we were met with the biggest of smiles and warmest of welcomes. We knew our room wouldn't be ready for a little while but the recommendations of handy deli's and breakfast bars were great. Our room and en suite were incredibly spacious, immaculately presented and would put many 5 star hotels to shame, and I've been fortunate enough to stay in a few. Breakfast was always beautifully presented, with a variety of self service cereals, juices or fruit and a perfectly presented cooked option. Our hostess's knowledge of the city, transport, restaurants and pubs was thoroughly exploited and the proximity to the centre meant we had an absolute ball. Simply cannot rate highly enough!!

This is my second stay at Two Hillside but it certainly won't be my last. It is a beautiful building in a great location, I can't imagine why anyone would want to stay in an hotel when Edinburgh has a gem like this. Elaine is a superb host, her attention to detail is second to none, the room I have stayed in on both occassions is number 1 and it is magnificent, the bathroom is as big as most hotel rooms. The toilitries are all from Purdies from Argyll..pure luxury, the beds are so comfortable that the only reason I managed to roll out of bed before 10.30am was the knowledge that a beautifully prepared breakfast was waiting for me. Fantastic.

I cannot recommend two hillside crescent enough - We stayed there for two nights and found everything well exceeded expectations, even after reading the brilliant reviews on trip advisor. Elaine, the owner, was wonderful. She showed genuine interest in our plans for our short break and helped us with some great suggestions of places to go. She was very accomodating and professional at all times, without losing warmth. The breakfast had good variety and was cooked very well. The room itself was astounding - large enough to fit a small home into, beautifully decorated & furnished, including a very comfortable superking bed. We had everything to hand that we needed and were in a great location, only a short walk to the main streets of Edinburgh. Thank you for such a lovely stay in Edinburgh.

Only 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Edinburgh, this is the best B&B in which we ever stayed in the UK. Convenient on -street parking, with a bus stop only across the road. Elaine was a perfect host.

Amazing property. We were stunned at how brillian this B&B was and the location was great. Having heard that Edinburgh was hilly and all the talk being about staying near the Royal Mile we had no concept of just how close we were to everything. It was a reasonable walk to the castle but we were sight seeing on the way so it was no hassle. The park opposite is a must to see in any event (and yes it is a steep climb to get to the top but regardless of the angle you enter the park it is still uphill). We had alreay seen the Royal Britannia but it is also a comfortable walk from this B&B making it a great central location to sites & restaurants.
The property is impressive inside and impressively maintained. The actual room was enormous and brilliantly furnished. It would better most suites in hotels and at a fraction of the cost. The bathroom itself is probably bigger than most hotel rooms. (We stayed in the room at the rear). Breakfast, service and all the other expectations you may have will be well and truly met.
We had tried to make sure that the last few nights of our holiday would be wonderful (we had had a brilliant holiday staying at some fabulouse properties) and we were also celebrating our anniversary whilst in Edinburgh. This B&B did not let us down. We could not have asked for better.
